I am a creative sustainable knitwear designer and consultant. I adore my industry and love nothing more than the excitement of a new sample arriving, when an idea becomes reality.

 

I am inspired by everything from the deconstructed beauty that is Elana Herzog's work to the absolute simplicity of Frank O'Gehrys nesting chairs. I love working with colour and have worked successfully on trend, themes and colour palettes in the various roles I have had. I am also driven by the thrill of great design having commercial success, and the excitement of a new season ahead in our ever changing industry.

 

Combined with a desire to tread lightly in this world I now focus on working solely with sustainable brands - believing you can design and produce beautiful pieces with solid sustainable principles and production methods.  We can enjoy the delight of a new garment and take care of the world at the same time.

 

I have worked as a freelancer and employee for both suppliers and retail, premium and designer brands so have a strong understanding of the demands across the industry. This enables me to combine creativity and commerciality.. I have extensive technical experience and can create detailed tech packs for fully fashioned-machine knitwear; as well as hand knits, crochet, embellishment and embroidery. I can engineer product into margin, fit garments and have strong range-building skills. I have well established working relationships with key industry suppliers in the Far East; who I can recommend if needed and really enjoy working closely with the factories to create the best possible product.

 

I additionally have experience in brand identity, brochure design, trade fair planning, photoshoot styling, showroom ranges, sourcing and swatching.
